Inscriptions

Adding lettering to an existing stone is called an inscription.  This need occurs when a double headstone requires the addition of the spouse. It is common for us to “match” the existing inscription in both style and wording although this is not a necessity.

Although the addition of an inscription can be done in cemetery, most frequently we prefer to remove the stone and bring it back to our shop where the work can be performed more professionally.  It also saves a mess at the cemetery and doesn’t harm existing flowers or shrubs.

This provides us the ideal opportunity to assess whether the existing stone or base requires any additional work (cleaning, pointing, etc.) as it is frequently the last time it will be attended to.
